Merriam-Webster dictionary defines ergonomics as “an applied science concerned with designing and arranging things people use so that the people and things interact most efficiently and safely.”
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2013, musculoskeletal disorders associated with poor ergonomic factors accounted for 33% of all illness and injury cases. In an effort to encourage a reduction of injury and lost productivity, Dr. Hopsicker has designed a program to provide education on how to effectively interact with your work station as it currently exists in a more ergonomic way! The program that Dr. Hopsicker offers is straightforward:
A 1 hour lunch and learn class with powerpoint presentation, where Dr. Hopsicker provides information on why good ergonomics are important, and addresses several factors that can be immediately acted upon, with time built in for Q/A.
Individual work station assessments, tailored to the individual at each specific station using existing equipment to maximum efficiency and efficacy.
This program has been employed by a diverse group of companies and government contractors, and has been seen as a positive, morale boosting experience for those organizations.
